Ryo ‘LEFTY’ Miyata

Ryo ‘LEFTY’ Miyata is a music producer and songwriter, composer, lyricist, arranger, bassist, keyboardist, guitarist, and sequence operator from Tokyo, Japan.

He made his first CD debut while in high school, as the bassist of his band. From there, he taught himself music production and guitar while working under various musical aliases.

As a multitalented creator, he excels at making catchy, pop melodies and crossover arrangements of various genres, and has produced, written, and arranged music for a wide range of artists, including some of Japan’s biggest names like MISIA (Tokyo 2020 Olympics Opening Ceremony singer), V6 (“It’s my life” Ranked #1 on Billboard Japan Hot 100 in September, 2020), eill, CHEMISTRY, Official Hige Dandism, Superfly, Aimyon, ALI, ASH DA HERO, and many more.

Being a versatile musician, he also acts as an on-stage utility player and provides live-performance support for some of Japan’s most popular artists, including Official Hige Dandism, sumika, Ryota Fujimaki, eill, Yuki Kashiwagi, and more. He is highly recognized for his ability to produce entertaining live shows with creative staging ideas and performances that fuel the crowd.

In 2018, he traveled to Sweden to participate in co-writing sessions with international songwriters, and has since then been working with his eye on the global market.

In 2020, he launched a creators’ union called “REVEL MUSIC” in order to create an organization that can produce music in a more efficient, all-rounded way.

At the same time, he opened an online salon (membership community) where he would share the entire production process of his upcoming album to its members — something probably no one has ever done before.

Always motivated and curious, he continues to explore new possibilities in music entertainment.
